At Arizona Premier Surgery, we understand that total health and wellness isn't just about your insides, but also how confident you are with your outside. Natural aging, environmental damage, and genetics cause most people to develop certain unwanted features, like lines, wrinkles, flat cheeks, and thin lips. Using a synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) that simulates the natural HA produced by the body, the Juvéderm family of dermal fillers creates natural, long-lasting results. Each Juvéderm filler is specially formulated to address a specific cosmetic concern:
Voluma® XC is used to add fullness to the mid-face for anyone who has age-related volume loss in their cheeks or naturally flat cheeks. Voluma results can last up to 2 years.
Vollure™ XC is specifically formulated to correct moderate to severe wrinkles and fold on the face, particularly the nasolabial folds and parentheses lines. Vollure results can last up to 18 months.
Volbella® XC is designed to add natural-looking volume to the lips while also smoothing the vertical lip lines caused by aging. Volbella results can last up to 1 year.
Common Reasons for Treatment
Lines and Wrinkles
Youthful skin is firm and elastic because the body still has a large supply of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. As the supply becomes depleted over the years, static lines and wrinkles begin to appear throughout the face. Most people particularly notice the parentheses and marionette lines on the sides of the mouth, as well as the nasolabial folds and "crow's feet" in the outer corners of the eyes.
Age-Related Volume Loss
Full, cherub-like cheeks and lips are one of the most visible differences between the young and old. Both the cheeks and lips begin to lose volume with age, making the face appear older and tired. Juvéderm treatments can restore volume to the mid-face and lips for anyone who has age-related volume loss as well as anyone who has naturally flat cheeks or thin lips.
Everyone's face ages differently, so before the injection, the doctor will perform a consultation to examine the patient's face while also listening to their concerns and goals. From there, the doctor can create a customized treatment plan with one, two, or all three of the Juvéderm formulas. The amount of filler needed will be carefully calculated after the injections sites are marked and cleaned. All Juvéderm fillers have lidocaine, a mild anesthetic, in their formula to minimize pain and discomfort during the treatment. Using fine needles, the doctor will carefully and quickly inject the filler into the face.
What to Expect
Juvéderm dermal injections typically take about 30 minutes in our minor procedures room. Patients will be allowed to leave as soon as they feel comfortable after their treatment to resume their normal activities. Most patients only need about 1 day to recovery from any redness or swelling caused by the treatment. The doctor will go over several post-treatment rules and tips. After their first treatment, patients should schedule a follow up appointment 2 weeks after their injection so the doctor can look for any signs of a reaction or side effect.
